Lord Xingmang led Luo Feng through the Infinite Hunyuan Space as if they were traversing a map, crossing vast territories.
“Hmm?”
Luo Feng noticed that they had entered an independent Time-Space, enveloping both himself and Lord Xingmang.
This isolated Time-Space, carrying the two Lords, rapidly plunged into its deepest recesses.
As they fell, the surrounding Time-Space continuously distorted.
“Where are we going?” Luo Feng asked, curious about the unfolding scene.
“You’ll find out soon enough,” Lord Xingmang replied with a smile.
The distortion of the surrounding Time-Space grew increasingly severe, surpassing the limits of perception for ordinary Lords and Hunyuan Ancestors.
Finally, they abruptly entered a hidden location.
“Hmm?”
Luo Feng stared in astonishment at what lay before him.
Before them stretched a Time-Space corridor, its end marked by a majestic Altar.
“This is the Mysterious Land, The Corridor of Records,” Lord Xingmang said, standing on the corridor and gazing outward.
Luo Feng also looked outward.
The Infinite Hunyuan Space transformed into a vastly shrunken “Absolute Sphere,” and The Corridor of Records occupied the exact center of this sphere.
From this vantage point, one could observe every region of the Infinite Hunyuan Space.
“Standing in The Corridor of Records, the entirety of the Infinite Hunyuan Space lies at your feet,” Lord Xingmang said with a smile.
“The Infinite Hunyuan Space is truly wondrous. Viewed from different angles, it reveals entirely different aspects.”
Luo Feng nodded.
He had previously observed the Infinite Hunyuan Space from the perspectives of the Land of Waves and the Abyss of Destruction, and now he was examining it from the vantage point of The Corridor of Records.
“Follow me,” Lord Xingmang said, leading the way down the corridor.
Luo Feng glanced at the walls on both sides.
They were adorned with intricate carvings depicting scenes from the history of the Infinite Hunyuan Space.
There were depictions of the birth of Mo Xu and Chu Shi Hunyuan Ancestor; the roar of the Giant God Emperor; the Infinite Serpent coiling around a World Cluster; Yuan emerging alone from the Origin World…
“This is the past of the Infinite Hunyuan Space,” Lord Xingmang explained, “This corridor records significant events that have shaped the entire space.”
Luo Feng nodded, walking and observing.
Each of the Eight Lords had moments recorded in the corridor.
As they approached the end of the corridor, Luo Feng saw his own carving: himself wielding the Blood Shadow Blade on the 34th Layer of the Abyss of Destruction, where the Realm Envoy of that level was paying respectful homage to him.
The final scene at the end of the corridor showed the Eight Lords breaching the core of the Hunyuan Ancestor Faction’s formation.
The flash of their blades split half of the Chu Shi Hunyuan Ancestor’s Absolute Sphere, sending terror into the hearts of the other Hunyuan Ancestors.
At the end of the corridor stood a majestic altar, shrouded in layers of phantom images that made it difficult to see inside.
Occasionally, fleeting scenes flashed across these layers.
“These phantom images?” Luo Feng’s expression shifted.
Though they vanished quickly, he had already memorized one: a gray-robed woman named Shazhou was in the Mysterious Land known as The Passage Valley. The Valley’s endless terrifying power converged around her, completely under her control.
“Shazhou can refine and control The Passage Valley?” Luo Feng realized the significance of this scene.
“Luo Feng, don’t dwell too much on these visions,” Lord Xingmang said dismissively, smiling, “The more you learn about the future, the less you’ll realize these scenes matter.”
Luo Feng listened intently.
“The present is determined, but what about the future?” Lord Xingmang continued with a grin, “Think of it this way. Suppose one million epochs from now, there are a hundred million possibilities for the futures.”
“Then what about ten million epochs from now?”
“Each of those hundred million possibilities could branch into another hundred million possibilities.”
“That adds up to trillions of total possibilities.”
“The further into the future you go… the number of possible outcomes escalates exponentially.”
“This is just a simple example,” Lord Xingmang said, “The actual evolution of the future is far more complex. Even I can’t probe too far into the distant future.”
“You just witnessed Shazhou controlling The Passage Valley,” Lord Xingmang continued, “That’s just one possible future, billions of epochs from now.”
Luo Feng nodded in understanding.
“The future depends on probability,” Lord Xingmang explained, “If the same future keeps recurring, that’s when we need to be wary.”
On the Altar Phantom, Luo Feng saw another vision:
The Infinite Serpent Hunyuan Ancestor materializing his colossal, true form – a body so vast it dwarfed any life in the current era.
“The Infinite Serpent Hunyuan Ancestor?” Luo Feng asked, his gaze solemn.
“An Immortal Realm existence. The longer such entities persists, the greater the chance of certain ‘powerful futures’ emerging,” Lord Xingmang said with a smile, “But occasional glimpses are insignificant.”
“Xingmang, have you ever seen a crucial future repeat itself multiple times?” Luo Feng asked.
Lord Xingmang paused, then nodded slightly.
“I’ve witnessed one future recurring. It’s a crisis for the Practitioner Faction, as well as the Innate Hunyuan Lifeform Faction and the Ice Peak Faction.”
Luo Feng’s expression shifted slightly.
“Naigu,” Lord Xingmang said, “is the source of this crisis.”
“Impossible,” Luo Feng frowned, “Naigu has always been devoted to the Practitioner Faction.”
“Naigu was destined to follow the Heart-Slaying Technique. Even without the threat of Mo Gu Si’s soul technique, after countless years of cultivation, he would have chosen this path.” Lord Xingmang looked at Luo Feng, “He would refine and control more and more Hunyuan Ancestor Bloodlines – twenty, thirty… Each fragment of Hunyuan Bloodline Will would become a subconscious within him. When dozens of these wills simultaneously influence him, under this collective consciousness, do you think he would be a Lord, or a Hunyuan Ancestor?”
Luo Feng paused, startled.
He remembered now: both Lord Naigu and Lord Jin were Calamity-Type practitioners.
This type of practitioners slaughtered billions for their own benefit.
Their loyalty to the Practitioner Faction likely paled in comparison to his own, Brother Yuan’s, and Lord Minghuang’s.
“At that time, he would serve neither the Practitioner Faction nor the Hunyuan Ancestor Faction,” Lord Xingmang said, “He would serve only himself.”
“Of course, that’s only one possible future,” Lord Xingmang said, “Because it’s so far in the future, even traversing countless timelines, I can’t observe it directly. I’ve only seen it repeatedly in the Altar Phantom.”
“Is there any way to influence the future?” Luo Feng asked.
“By observing the scenes manifested in the Altar Phantom, I can deduce much information,” Lord Xingmang said with a smile, “The Infinite Hunyuan Space is still young, capable of accommodating many more Hunyuan Ancestors and Lords! There are still too many variables.”
“Now, The Passage Valley seems difficult to refine, but in the future… Shazhou might be able to control it.”
“Take the Hell Fire Prison Wall, one of the three Mysterious Lands. Its Origin has yet to be found. But in the Altar Phantom, I’ve seen the Wu Jin Hunyuan Ancestor wielding a portion of its power in the future.”
“And we Lords will become even more powerful.”
Lord Xingmang looked at Luo Feng.
“Even if Naigu truly becomes a threat, I believe there will still be the power to suppress him!”
“You, Luo Feng, you can suppress him!”
Luo Feng gazed at the overlapping phantoms in the Altar.
“Is it possible to see oneself in the Altar Phantom?” Luo Feng asked.
“Based on my experience, the future revealed by the Altar Phantom never shows oneself,” Lord Xingmang said.
Luo Feng paid little heed to this. Having already established himself as the strongest of his generation, he remained confident in his ability to handle whatever the future held.
“Luo Feng, I need to activate the Altar. Can you provide me with energy?” Lord Xingmang asked.
“Of course,” Luo Feng nodded.
Lord Xingmang gazed at the Altar and immediately ignited his Main Combat Clone.
A torrent of power surged forth, his vast energy pouring into the layers of the Altar Phantom.
The phantom figures began to shift and transform under the influence.
Drawing upon his mastery of Time-Space, he maintained the “Extreme Combustion” state of his Main Combat Clone with remarkable efficiency.
After a brief moment – equivalent to the energy expenditure of over a hundred Main Combat Clones – Lord Xingmang finally opened the Altar.
The moment the Altar Phantom parted –
Luo Feng saw a book.
A book floating at the center of the Altar.
“Whoosh.”
Lord Xingmang immediately dispatched a clone into the Altar’s core.
The Altar then sealed itself shut again, the layers of phantom figures closing around it.
“My clone has entered the Altar Core and can now remain there indefinitely,” Lord Xingmang said with a smile, looking at Luo Feng, “Thank you, Luo Feng.”
“What about that book?” Luo Feng asked.
“It’s the manifested Origin of The Corridor of Records,” Lord Xingmang explained, still smiling, “If I can refine it, I can control this Mysterious Land.”
“Is refining it difficult?” Luo Feng inquired.
“In The Corridor of Records, time and space are merely fragments. The core lies in the Laws of Cause and Effect,” Lord Xingmang admitted, “But my Time-Space Dao is strong enough, and with your assistance, I was able to forcefully enter! In the coming years, I’ll need to cooperate with the Origin as the ‘Recorder.’ As long as I perform well and invest enough time, I should still be able to control The Corridor of Records.”
Luo Feng nodded with delight.
He had sensed the hidden power emanating from the book and judged The Corridor of Records to be a mid-tier Mysterious Land.
If Lord Xingmang’s strength increased, it would benefit the entire Practitioner Faction.
“Can you see yourself in the Altar Phantom?” Luo Feng asked, observing the shimmering image, “Have you ever seen me in it?”
“Of course I have,” Lord Xingmang replied with a laugh, “In the Infinite Hunyuan Space, your blade is indisputably the strongest.”
Luo Feng smiled.
He wasn’t particularly skilled in understanding the time-space and cause and effect aspects of The Corridor of Records.
After spending some time there and witnessing glimpses of possible futures involving Lord Naigu, Yuan, and Lord Minghuang, he eventually left.
At the Altar Core, Lord Xingmang sat cross-legged, one hand holding a brush and the other holding a book, diligently recording.
“Luo Feng,” Lord Xingmang said, looking up.
Looking out from the Altar Core, Lord Xingmang saw layers of phantom images, and within them, occasional scenes.
One such scene caught his attention:
A majestic, dimly lit grand hall emanated an aura capable of making the entire Infinite Hunyuan Space tremble.
Within the hall, a central throne stood flanked by 108 seats.
Upon the central throne sat a towering figure: Luo Feng!
The 108 seats on either side were occupied by various figures, including Mo Xu, Lord Jin, Kafuxiu, the Wu Jin Hunyuan Ancestor, and even Shazhou…
“The greatest faction of the future!” Lord Xingmang lowered his head and resumed recording.
He had witnessed this scene of Luo Feng’s many times before.
